Marilyn Ashford Brown - with the Metro Divas
Check out the Metro Divas - Another review.

Sept, 2010

Cool Million and Marilyn Ashford Brown just completed their very first Christmas Recording together.  Marilyn  wrote the lyrics to the music written and produced by Rob Hardt, member of Cool Million....It's going to be a Christmas Celebration for everyone to celebrate the season.  "I am so blessed and appreciative of the opportunity extended by Rob to record a christmas song with Cool Million".... Look for it in the coming months.

There is the strong possibility that Marilyn will be coming to the U. K. soon to perform....stay tuned for details.

The New,  Mix 2010,  CD has received a rave review by Barry Towler and Di-Lee of Soulchoonz.   The CD also includes the "Burley"  club-remix of her hit track titled, I've Got A Feeling.

A new CD will be soon be in the works  but "it will not come fast" says Marilyn.  "I plan to take my time because, it's important for me to give my fans a great product  and not just a CD Release".  "So, when it's completed, I will have to feel absolutely good about it before releasing it"Anita Baker's Rapture Albumn helped to set my standards for how I wanted to represent myself as an artist I can't recall one song from Rapture  that didn't get played on the radio.....it was a Classic Summer!

Marilyn will make a special guest appearance along with Dexter Wansel during his upcoming Blues Alley Performance scheduled, Tuesday, Novemeber 23rd.....you don't want to miss this spectacular evening featuring the Sounds of Philadelphia!

Marilyn Ashford Brown's recent performance during The 2010 Med-Soul  in Lloret De Mar, Costa Brava, Spain was overwhelmingly received by her new fans attending the event from the U. K. Her rendition of the late Phyllis Hyman's You Know How To Love Me was most favored along with Sharon Redd's Can You Handle It  which was originally recorded with her former group Sasss.   Both songs are available on the Mix 2010 CD.  Marilyn received many inqiries about the group Sasss.  "Until now, many fan were unaware of my history with Sasss" she stated during recent interview.  Sass also had the successful 1984 release in the U. K. titled, I Didn't Mean It At All and City Life.  Sadly, the group parted ways before having  the opportunity to promote their hit in the U. K.

In spite of being a "Soul R&B Recording Artist, Marilyn still has high hopes of some day opening for Pop, sensational Elton John.  She hasn't given up on the possibility of appearing on The Oprah Winfrey's show.  After 2 decades of writing to the show, it seems impossible,  but as she says "probably millions more like myself have done the same, but then they're not Marilyn Ashford Brown, huh?"  Most of all, she wants to pertform at the White House for President Barack and First Lady, Michelle Obama for whom inspired the popular track titled, I've Got A Feeling.    With tenacity like Marilyn's, anything's possible.

5th July 2008

On Friday, June 6, at the Kodak Theatre was the place to hear in full effect the brazen, sharply-dressed, best man on the radio, Steve Harvey.

At 8:15 p.m., folks rolled as Marilyn Ashford Brown sang the Barry White slow and sexy classic “Can’t Get Enough of Your Love, Babe.” It was more of a fashion show than a comedy one as people dressed in their best designer outfits or their most comfortable wearing tees and jeans. Ashford Brown switched over to the late Phyllis Hyman 1979 hit “Somewhere in My Lifetime.” After Ashford Brown, it was time for a pre-comedy boost provided by Pres Scott. See full article.
